Meet Pip
Let's get to know one another.....
Hey! Thank you for clicking on my page. Although there is only so much one can put onto a screen I'll try my best to give you some insight into who I am both as a personal trainer and an individual.

My name is 'Pip', a nickname I have held for as long as I can remember, I travelled a lot growing up due to the nature of my Dad's job which allowed me to explore and appreciate other cultures from a very young age. I would describe myself as a positive individual with a lot of energy and zest for life. I believe a lot of my enthusiasm for each day boils down to fitness. Medical professionals and scientists discuss the imperative connection between movement and the mind, hence the expression 'movement is medicine'. Everyone in their life will come up against challenges, triumphs and failures which can either knock you down or build you into an unstoppable individual. The choice is ultimately yours. If I have ever had a bad or 'meh' day I always know that I can rely on the gym or a run for a boost and after years of training I am still yet to walk out of the gym feeling worse than I did before, so something must be going right!

I first stepped into the gym because I was tired of holding insecurities, failing unrealistic diets, ultimately feeling more disappointed when it inevitably all went wrong. I also had other life obstacles which were difficult to navigate and often left me feeling in a rut with no healthy outlet. I had joined (and cancelled) gyms numerous times due to having no idea what I was doing so remained clueless, stuck on the cross trainer every session, looking in awe at the women smashing it in the free weights area. In 2021 I decided that enough was enough, I was no longer going to admire the confident, strong women in the gym, I was going to BECOME one. I joined a local gym and was guided by a personal trainer for a year. The knowledge I attained, transformation within my physique and mind sky rocketed my confidence. I learnt discipline. I promised myself I wouldn't give up and I kept to my word. With years of working on myself both externally and internally, I am now entirely accepting of who I am, grateful that my body is able to get me up every day and achieve wonderful things. Growth is not always what you see in the mirror, it is how you speak to yourself, the thoughts you allow yourself to believe and let control or consume you. I like to believe we are all capable of becoming content and happy in our bodies with a little work. You're in your own mind forever so let's try and make it a nice place to be.

My employment history is much more vast than the gym floor. I am a qualified Social Worker that spent multiple years frontline supporting survivors of domestic abuse, modern slavery, human trafficking and looked after children. Prior to that I specialised in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health, in particular dementia caring for vulnerable adults throughout the entirety of the pandemic and prior. I am very proud of the roles I have worked in and especially feel I learnt a great deal about others and myself throughout each day and challenge. I have worked alongside hundreds of people from different ages, backgrounds, support needs, religious beliefs and experiences. Truly highlighting that no two individuals are the same. Now applying this to practice, my role as a personal trainer and online coach is to tailor your needs and goals to your training and nutrition, factoring in your lifestyle and requirements in order to reward you with the outcome that you deserve and worked hard for! Although I can't do all the work for you, I will be there beside you every step of the way. My aim is to guide you, teaching you the skills, unleashing your inner strength (which I know you have) and strong mindset needed for success so that you are able to eventually 'flee the nest' and flourish independently.

Enough about me... I want to get to know YOU. It would be an honour to work with you so let's connect and start your new journey together.
Fitness experience:
Although my love for fitness is predominantly gym based I don't stop there....I have completed the Hampton Court Half Marathon, trained as a dancer for seventeen years, been an enthusiastic skier since the age of four as well as competed in horse riding competitions. I believe the key to sticking to a healthy lifestyle is through enjoyment, something I encourage through my work consistently. Fitness never has and never needs to be boring.
